London and the South East Constructing Excellence Awards 2023
The Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards are one of the most anticipated and coveted events of the year, recognising the very best companies, collaborations and projects within the construction and built environment sector from across the London and the South East. The esteemed black-tie awards ceremony took place at the magnificent Nine Kings Suite, Royal Lancaster London on Thursday 26th June 2023, with over 550 guests joining together to celebrate the success of the regions’ finest people and organisations.
As a sponsoring partner, Vantage were honoured to attend the Constructing Excellence SECBE awards three course gala dinner, alongside extending our invitation out to four valued clients of ours to join us for an evening of celebration: Karen Rosvall from Collins Construction, Nick James from McBain’s and Jason Hitchins and Alan McMahon both from Building Perspectives. The dazzling event began at 6pm, where we were welcomed on the evening with a spectacular drink’s reception, and a chance to socialise and network around the bar with finalists and fellow sponsors ahead of being seated for a fantastic evening of celebration and entertainment.
The star-studded ceremony was hosted by the famous Simon Fanshawe OBE diversity consultant, broadcaster and author as emcee and Master of ceremonies for the evening, with Charity partner Lighthouse Club opening the awards with a motivational speech before the formal dinner and awards commenced. The wine began to flow and the awards ceremony began.
With 17 award categories recognising 75 finalists, Vantage Building Control were sponsoring The G4C Future Leader category, the category looks to recognise a young achiever in the industry that has best demonstrated a positive impact against the current G4C (Generation for Change) priority areas of people development, sustainability, and innovation. As a forward thinking, and dynamic company Vantage Building Control is committed to investing and shaping the future of the industry, and through sponsoring the G4C Future Leader category Vantage wanted to recognise a bright and bold young professional who is leading the way in making significant and positive impacts within the built environment.
Managing Director of Vantage Building Control, Tony Harvey-Soanes was thrilled to take to the stage to announce the winner of the G4C Future Leader category. There were five exceptional finalists nominated for this award: Tilly Hawkins (Cibes Lift), Ellie Snee (Titan Elevators), Elizabeth (Liz) McDermott (QuickFix Profiles), Sarah Bolton (Lighthouse Construction Charity), Jenny McLaughlin (Heathrow). The competition was fierce this year, with this, Tony announced Tilly Hawkins from Cibes Lift as highly recommended (runner up), but there could only be one winner and Tony was delighted to announce Sarah Bolton (Lighthouse Construction Charity) as winner of the G4C Future Leader award. Sarah took to the stage where Tony presented Sarah with her award and trophy.
Simon Fanshawe was joined on stage by charity partner, The Lighthouse Club Head of Partnerships Tom McConkey to share information about the charity’s services. Simon went onto close the awards ceremony congratulating all winners and finalists, and proudly announcing that a fabulous £3,460 had been raised during the evening for The Lighthouse Club. The incredible evening concluded with a fanfare of after dinner entertainment of live music and dancing.
