The East Anglian Daily Times Suffolk Business Awards are held every year to celebrate the achievements and significant milestones that mark a company’s journey. Vantage Building Control were entered into the Start-up Business of the Year category having to demonstrate all-round excellence in every area of business.
This was evidenced through Vantage Building Control’s start-up story. The company commenced trading in June 2019, six months before the start of the pandemic which tore through the country and the world alike, causing unprecedented disruption to businesses. Vantage Building Control swiftly adapted their working practices and diversified their business models, remarkably growing their new business and showcasing strength and determination at a time when the impact of the pandemic could have easily caused irreversible damage to the young business.
Through sheer entrepreneurial resilience shown by Tony and Russell the business instead was able to thrive, and grow exponentially, which saw Vantage Building Control double their workforce, and opening a new London office in March 2021.
Competing with a range of businesses, Vantage Building Control’s impressive business achievements enabled them to beat an unprecedented level of entrants to become one of three finalists in the start-up business of the year category.

As finalists, Vantage Building Control were invited to attend the black-tie three-course dinner held at Kesgrave Hall, Ipswich on Thursday 18 November 2021 sponsored by Suffolk Chamber of Commerce and Sizewell C. The glittering event began at 6.15 pm with a drinks reception with guests being seated at 7 pm for the delicious three-course dinner. Guest speaker Priya Lakhani addressed the audience with an inspirational speech before the awards started. The awards began with the judges praising all the finalists congratulating them on their sheer hard work and determination through some extremely challenging times, with host David Whiteley announcing the 2021 winners from each category.
